Annual Wartburg Spring Festival

The quaint town of Wartburg, just 20 minutes outside of Pietermaritzburg, is gearing up for their Annual German Spring Festival.

The event coordinated by The Wartburg Lutheran Church is one of the most anticipated events on the town’s calendar with stall holders and exhibitors from as far as Cape Town who will showcase their artisanal items to the public.

This year, Orion Group’s Wartburger Hof Hotel has joined in to make the event one to remember. Nadia Gmeiner from Orion Group’s Marketing Department said that she was ecstatic to be involved in such an event. “The town of Wartburg is a beautiful gem and our hotel, the Wartburger Hof, owes a lot of its success and support to the people of this town. For us to be a part of the festivities and the camaraderie among the brilliant townsfolk is such an honour for us and we hope to increase the support and numbers to this year’s event, “she said.

The Wartburger Hof German Spring Festival promises to delight the young and old alike. There will be a number of stalls which range from arts and crafts to artisanal food and beverages including traditional German cuisine that is sure to delight even the most discerning palette. Pastor Udo Lutge from the Wartburg Lutheran Church said he was excited to have the Wartburger Hof Hotel on board for this year’s event. “Our main aim for hosting this event was to bring the Wartburg community together as well as encourage people from surrounding areas to visit our town. We are pleased that the event has grown and we encourage anyone and everyone to attend and support this family fun day”, he said.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Wartburg Lutheran Church. For those wanting to host a stall at the festival, please contact Nadia Gmeiner on 011-718-6452 or email
